Whether you're celebrating with your partner or curled up watching a movie by yourself, winter is a wonderful time for cocktails that warm you from the inside. Here are some of my favourite cocktails for a snowy winter evening, both fresh off the slopes and curled up around the fire at home.
KIR ROYALE
INGREDIENTS
- 25ml cassis syrup
- Prosecco top
METHOD
- Add cassis into glass and slowly top with prosecco.
- Garnish with 1 or 2 raspberries floating in glass.
ROSITA
INGREDIENTS
- 45ml tequila
- 15ml Campari
- 15ml Dry Vermouth
- 15ml Rosso
- 1 dash of Aromatic bitters
METHOD
- Stir all with ice in mixing glass.
- Double strain with fine and Julep strainers into ice filled rocks glass.
-Garnish with grapefruit zest peel ran around the rim and tucked into ice in glass.
(Grapefruit peel can be substituted with orange if necessary)
BELMONT JEWEL
INGREDIENTS
- 60ml bourbon
- 40ml pomegranate juice
- 90ml lemonade (fizzy or flat)
METHOD
- Shake bourbon, pomegranate juice and lemonade -if using flat lemonade- with ice.
- Double strain into ice filled glass.
- Top with lemonade if using fizzy lemonade.
- Garnish with orange zest twist and mint sprig.
RASPBERRY DAIQUIRI
INGREDIENTS
- 45ml white rum
- 45ml crème de framboise
- 30ml fresh lime juice
- 4 fresh raspberries
METHOD
- Shake all ingredients with ice.
- Double strain into chilled martini or coupe glass and garnish with rosemary and raspberry on a sword.
COSMOPOLITAN
INGREDIENTS
- 30ml Vodka
- 30ml cointreau (triple sec)
- 45ml cranberry juice
- 15ml lime juice
- 1 dash of orange bitters
METHOD
- Shake all with ice.
- Double strain into a chilled glass and garnish with (flamed) orange zest twist or slice floating in glass.
